Peterson Selected as NEH Summer Scholar

Dr. Christian Peterson, professor of history in the Humanities Department in the Ferris State University College of Arts, Sciences and Education, has been selected as an NEH Summer Scholar from a national applicant pool to attend one of 24 seminars and institutes supported by the National Endowment for the Humanities. Dr. Peterson will participate in an institute titled "Transcendentalism and Reform in the Age of Emerson, Thoreau, and Fuller." The two-week program will be held in Concord, Mass., and will be directed by Dr. Sandy Petrulionis, Distinguished Professor of English and American Studies at Penn State University, Altoona.
The 25 teachers selected to participate in the program each receive a stipend of $2,100 cover their travel, study and living expenses.
Earlier this year Peterson was awarded the Academic Scholar Award from the Ferris Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.
