Student Wage Rates

Effective January 1st, 2026

Level I — Pay Range ($13.73- $13.99)
Level II — Pay Range ($14.00 – $14.49)

Determining Wages

Effective January 1, 2026, the minimum wage is increased to $13.73 per hour. Based upon this information, we are updating our student wage levels as outlined below. As a reminder from earlier communications, students below the minimum wage rate will be adjusted by Human Resources. Any other request for changes must go through your division budget approval process. The Student Employment office must approve of any exception to the approved posted pay rates. Requests for exceptions must be submitted in writing to the Student Employment Office. Request must include the requested pay rate and the justification for the higher rate of pay such as special skills and experience required. Please note, budget is not the only consideration for requests to pay a higher rate than listed below. Pay compression and equity are also reviewed among other factors.

Level I - Pay Range $13.73-$13.99 per hour

Little or no previous education or experience necessary to moderate level of education/ work experience. - Performs tasks involving a high level of difficulty or complexity. - Duties which may be technical in nature. - Must demonstrate good independent judgment and decision making ability.	- High level of previous experience required (minimum of two semesters or equivalent).	- High level of related skills. - Possesses knowledge and abilities to perform duties with little or no training. - Prioritizes and performs multiple tasks with attention to detail.	- Performs work independent with minimal supervision. - Exercises independent judgment and initiative as part of the job assignment. - May have supervisory duties over some student employees.
