What support system or mentors did you have in college?
My mother was a major role model and support system for me while I was in college.
Even when I wanted to get a job while being enrolled in school, she would not allow
it. She said she wanted me to solely focus on my studies. Having that kind of support
feels amazing; looking back now, I appreciate it even more.
What is something that you know now, that you wish you knew when you were in college?
There are two things I know now that I wish I knew when I was in college: 1) Don't
sweat the small stuff. 2) I hold more power than I think I do.
What advice do you have for a first-generation college student pursuing a degree at
Ferris?
ASK QUESTIONS! You will not receive help if you do not ask for it. Ferris State has
many resources available on campus; from the Food Pantry for free food to the First
Lady's Attic for professional clothing---we have you covered!
