Disability Awareness Month

Disability Awareness at Ferris

In 1987, Congress instituted Disability Employment Awareness Month in order to inform the public of the structural inequalities faced by those with disabilities. At Ferris, we celebrate October as Disability Awareness Month, and don’t limit the scope to employment only.

"This is our time to share our stories and prompt the public to change the narrative of disability inequality one by one.  This is our time to demonstrate that life with a disability can be just as fulfilling and impactful as any other."

- Nicole O'Brien, ECDs Intern
