Biography

Dr. Qian Ding received her Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from Shenyang Pharmaceutical University, China. She obtained her Ph.D. degree from Auburn University in 2012 under the direction of Dr. Kenneth N. Barker. Her research interests include medication use systems and patient safety.

From 2012 to 2014, she has completed her postdoctoral training with Dr. Albert Wertheimer at Temple University and served as a project manager in Global Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) at Merck & Co., Inc. Her training focused on healthcare resources utilization, treatment patterns, medication adherence, patient satisfaction, and quality of life among patients with immune system disorders including gastroenterology, dermatology, and rheumatoid diseases.

She currently teaches PHAR 425 Pharmacy Practice Management 1 for P2 students, PHAR 535 Sociopharmacy and Ethics with proportions of health behavior change theories, public health, and patient-reported outcomes for P3 students in Grand Rapids. She also offers the elective of PHAR 490 Patient Safety in Medication Use Systems in Fall semesters.

She serves on both the Admission Committee and Diversity Committee since the academic years of 2015-2016 and 2016-2017. She is an active member of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) since 2015.
