MARR Leadership
MARR: The First 25 Years
Commemorative video highlighting the accomplishments of MARR over the first 25 years
The Michigan Antibiotic Resistance Reduction (MARR) Coalition was formed in 1997 through a grant from General Motors Corporation to help reduce unnecessary antibiotic prescribing in Michigan. Since then, we have grown to include a broad coalition of local professional and community organizations, and individuals focused on the issue of unwarranted use of antibiotics in treating self-limiting respiratory ailments, like colds, flu and most coughs.
In Memory of Jane Finn

We learned on 2/8/2026 that Jane Finn has passed away. Jane was the Executive Director from 2008 to 2016. In 2013, she was instrumental in establishing MARR as a non-profit entity. Another significant contribution was the development of the in-flight video on antibiotic stewardship which was mentioned by Lauri Hicks in the 25th anniversary video. She also spearheaded the development of the original High school educational program.
