Glaucoma patients can live full lives. The ultimate goal of glaucoma therapy is to maintain vision and what is already lost cannot be restored. Some people are at higher risk for glaucoma than others. This includes, African Americans, Asian Americans, people over the age of 60, if you have immediate family members with glaucoma, steroid use, and if glaucoma occurred as a result of eye injury.
