The Ferris MoSO is used by students and faculty to provide context for classroom theories
on marriage and family, social work, and the cultural, political, and economic structures
that perpetuate inequalities and gendered expectations for men and women in current
day society. By finding and naming the sexist objects around us, students and other
visitors are better able to combat de-humanizing stereotypes and take a stand for
women and girls.
The Ferris MoSO encourages visitors to work with local and global organizations that
work to promote gender equality, equal pay, and to combat violence against women.
