Study Abroad

Our mission in the Office of International Education is to provide students with study abroad opportunities that foster their academic, social, and personal growth. 

By studying abroad, students will be immersed into a different culture through many types of programs ranging from semester experiences to short-term faculty programs.

While studying abroad you will:Generation Study Abroad

  • Earn academic credit at Ferris State University
  • Apply most forms of financial aid to program expenses
  • Study a variety of subjects in English
  • Explore, discover, and broaden your cultural horizons

Attend a Weekly Workshop for Study Abroad held every Friday at 1:00pm in IRC 104 to learn more about studying abroad.

There will be a Study Abroad Fair on October 21st from 11am-3:00pm and October 23rd from 9:00am-1:00pm in UCB 202AB. Come to the fair to learn more about opportunities, funding, and the logistics of studying abroad!

Short-Term Faculty Led Programs

Short-term programs usually range from two to four weeks, and you can earn three to six credits. Non Ferris students can also participate in a short-term program. It is a great stepping stone, introducing you to studying outside the United States.

Semester Exchange Programs

When students participate with one of our exchange partner schools, they pay Ferris tuition and other fees to the host school. When participating in an affiliate program, students will pay a program fee.
