With your degree in Elementary Education from Ferris, you will be ready to inspire growth in your students. With in-depth classroom study and more than 600 hours teaching in the field, you will have the precise mixture of theoretical knowledge and experience-based skills to approach the everyday unexpected occurrences of an elementary classroom.
Program Details
Concentrations
The Elementary Education Program offers two concentrations: PK-3 and 3-6. Students may choose to complete both concentrations. Both concentrations have their own required classes to complete the degree.

Pre-K to Third Grade
Complete 66 credits with a focus on pre-k to third grade education, including foundations of education, literacy and language.

Third to Sixth Grade
Complete 65 credits with a focus on third to sixth grade education, including math, social studies, and children's healthy living.
Accreditation
The Educator Preparation Program (EPP) at Ferris State University has earned national accreditation until Fall 2026 by demonstrating excellence in the areas of content and pedagogy, clinical experiences, selectivity, program impact, and capacity for continuous improvement from the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).
