Minor
Locations:
The Political Science Minor provides students with a deeper understanding of how government and public policy operate in the United States, from local decision-making to the national political landscape. Students explore how political institutions function, how policies are developed, and how public opinion, media, political parties, and elections shape the decisions made by those in power. Coursework also examines how the American political system compares with those of other countries, offering a broader global perspective.
This minor pairs well with majors involving public interaction, advocacy, or civic engagement, including communication, criminal justice, education, law, public relations, and social work. Students completing this minor develop valuable analytical, research, communication, and problem-solving skills that translate into careers in public service, government agencies, nonprofit organizations, law, education, and beyond.
