Marissa Kelly accepted the position of Americorp College Completion Coach through a program created by the Michigan College Access Network (MCAN). She is a December 2019 graduate from Ferris State University’s Social Work Program, is a resident of Baldwin, Michigan, and she is thrilled to serve here at Ferris State University to support our current undergraduate students in reaching their dreams.
The goal of the College Completion Corp. Program is to increase the graduation rate for college students enrolled in two-year degree programs; with a specific emphasis on supporting students of color, low income, and first-generation students. At Ferris State, Marissa is providing one-on-one, holistic, wrap-around support for a cohort of 100-150 students of color enrolled in one of our Associates degrees, to obtain their degree through planning, goal setting, implementation, motivation, and connecting them with their advisor and other resources on and off campus.
