Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. (INACTIVE)
Founded on December 4, 1906, at Cornell University, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. holds the distinction of being the first intercollegiate Greek-letter organization established for African American men. Originally a study group, the fraternity was created to promote manly deeds, scholarship, and a love for all mankind. Over the years, Alpha Phi Alpha has played a pivotal role in advocating for civil rights and social justice, with notable members including Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Thurgood Marshall, who have significantly contributed to the fraternity's legacy of leadership and service.
Zeta Beta Chapter (INACTIVE) was chartered on May 2, 1966.
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. (INACTIVE)
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. was founded on January 15, 1908, at Howard University, making it the oldest Greek-letter organization established for African American women. The sorority, affectionately known as the Ivies, was created with the mission to serve all mankind and foster a sense of sisterhood among its members. Alpha Kappa Alpha has a rich history of community service and advocacy, with programs addressing issues such as education, health, and global poverty. Its notable members include Vice President Kamala Harris, the first African American woman to hold the office.
Zeta Epsilon Chapter (INACTIVE) was chartered on April 29, 2012.
Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., also known as the Nupes or Phi Nu Pi, was founded on January 5, 1911, at Indiana University Bloomington. This fraternity emphasizes brotherhood, achievement, and service within the Black community. Kappa Alpha Psi's motto, "Achievement in Every Field of Human Endeavor," reflects its commitment to excellence and leadership across various spheres of life. The fraternity boasts a legacy of influential members who have made significant contributions to business, politics, and education.
Epsilon Tau Chapter was chartered on May 24, 1969.
Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
Established on November 17, 1911, at Howard University, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. is built on the principles of Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift. The fraternity’s mission is to elevate both its members and the broader Black community through its focus on academic achievement and social engagement. Omega Psi Phi has a strong tradition of community service and activism, with distinguished members including civil rights leader Jesse Jackson and Nobel laureate Dr. Ralph Abernathy.
Phi Zeta Chapter was chartered on February 11, 1974.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was established on January 13, 1913, at Howard University with a focus on public service and community involvement. Founded by 22 collegiate women, the sorority is dedicated to providing assistance and support through various programs aimed at improving the Black community and beyond. Delta Sigma Theta's work spans education, health, political awareness, and international development, reflecting its commitment to social justice and community uplift. Prominent members include Congresswoman Maxine Waters and scholar Dr. Betty Shabazz.
Zeta Rho Chapter was chartered on May 24, 1969.
Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.
Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. was founded on January 9, 1914, at Howard University
and is known for its commitment to brotherhood, scholarship, and community service.
As the only NPHC fraternity with a constitutionally-bound sister organization, Zeta
Phi Beta Sorority, Phi Beta Sigma's mission includes promoting positive social change
and educational advancement. The fraternity's impact is evident through its various
outreach programs and initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of life within the
community. Notable members include historian Dr. Carter G. Woodson and sports commentator
Mike Hill.

Founded on January 16, 1920, at Howard University, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. emphasizes Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood, and Finer Womanhood. As the sister organization to Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Zeta Phi Beta is dedicated to promoting excellence and community service among its members. The sorority has been active in various social causes, including healthcare and educational outreach, and is known for its strong commitment to philanthropic endeavors. The sorority's legacy of excellence is upheld by members who contribute significantly to both local and global communities.

Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.
Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., founded on November 12, 1922, at Butler University in Indiana, is the only Black sorority established at a predominantly white institution. The sorority's mission is to improve the quality of life for women through community service, civil, and social action. Sigma Gamma Rho is dedicated to addressing issues affecting women and families, and its programs focus on education, health, and youth mentoring. The sorority’s impact is reflected in its long history of advocacy and social change.
Delta Zeta Chapter was chartered on October 3, 1970.
Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc.
Founded during the Civil Rights Movement on September 19, 1963, at Morgan State University, Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. is the most recent addition to the NPHC. The fraternity was established to address social issues and make meaningful contributions to society, particularly within the Black community. Iota Phi Theta is known for its dedication to social service and its emphasis on academic and community-oriented initiatives. Despite being the youngest organization in the NPHC, it has made significant strides in promoting positive change and leadership.
Gamma Eta Chapter was chartered on November 7, 1997.
Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, Inc.
Established at Kean College on December 1, 1975, Lambda Theta Phi is the first Latin fraternity in the U.S. Its primary aim is to create a supportive network for Latino men, promoting their academic and professional growth while celebrating their cultural heritage. The mission of Lambda Theta Phi is to empower the Latin male through scholarship, Brotherhood, opportunity and protection of identity and equality. The fraternity emphasizes leadership, service, and brotherhood, with a commitment to making a positive impact on both local and global communities.

Established in April 4, 1986, on the campus of the University of Iowa, Sigma Lambda Beta is a historically Latino fraternity that focuses on fostering academic achievement, leadership, and cultural pride among its members. The fraternity is dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusivity within the Greek community, offering a supportive environment for men from various backgrounds to grow and thrive.
Upsilon Epsilon Chapter was chartered on June 11, 2019.

Founded at University of Iowa, on April 9, 1990, Sigma Lambda Gamma is one of the largest Latina-based sororities in the United States. The sorority’s mission is to promote the academic and personal development of women through a strong sisterhood, cultural awareness, and community service. Sigma Lambda Gamma emphasizes leadership and empowerment, supporting its members in achieving their fullest potential. There motto is “Culture is Pride, Pride is Success.”
