Why Ferris?
I chose Ferris because it is a good distance from home, they had a great financial aid packet for me, and the size of the school is perfect. Nothing is too far, but there is always plenty of new people to meet.
What does being First-Gen mean to you?
Being a First Gen student is both empowering and overwhelming. I am creating a new path and identity than what was given to me, but it is a tough journey. It gets hard especially since I have no one in my family I can go to for help with regards to school plans, but knowing I will be the one that can help my younger siblings when their time comes for secondary education keeps me going.
