What support system or mentors did you have in college?
I only used my one friend for support. I didn't know who else to reach out to for help.
What is something that you know now, that you wish you knew when you were in college?
That there are resources within the university that can answer questions or help you with concerns that arise as a student. I didn't know those things, so my stress levels were far greater.
What advice do you have for a first-generation college student pursuing a degree at Ferris?
I would recommend students to become familiar with the departments, professors, staff, and resources (tutoring, financial aid office, advising, counseling center) at Ferris. That way when you have questions or if you need help (academically, personally, financially), you will know where to go and who to talk to. This will keep your stress low and your academic success high.
