How did you learn that you were a first generation college student?
I always knew I was the only person in my immediate family to go to college. I didn't
understand the impact it would have though until after graduating.
What support system or mentors did you have in college?
The football team kept me on track as well as my mentor being my academic advisor
What is something that you know now, that you wish you knew when you were in college?
I wish I knew how important it is to associate yourself with people and different
organizations. I feel, if I had done so I would have been more successful in the classroom.
What advice do you have for a first-generation college student pursuing a degree at
Ferris?
Never be too prideful to ask for help. There are so many opportunities around campus
that will help prepare you to graduate and start your life.
