The typography system for Ferris State University is provided below. Please note that all of the university's logos are graphics files that must be downloaded from this website and must not be recreated independently.

Primary Typefaces

The university's primary typefaces are Input Sans Compressed and Utopia Std.

Input Sans Compressed and Utopia Std are licensed fonts available for individual user purchase via Adobe. Users with Adobe Creative Cloud or Adobe Typekit subscriptions also can access them directly via those subscriptions. 

Alternative Typefaces

The following typefaces may be substituted by users without access to primary fonts. 

Barlow Condensed for Input Sans

Barlow Condensed is a font available for free download on the Web.

Georgia is a default system font available on all computers.

Input Sans Compressed or Utopia Std may be used for headline copy, as appropriate to content and design. Alternate fonts may be substituted as needed.

Eyebrow Treatment

Eyebrow treatments are used for callout text or pull quotes. Input Sans Compressed or Utopia Std may be used for eyebrow treatments, as appropriate to content and design. Alternate fonts may be substituted as needed.

The university's official typeface for Web applications continues to be the Google font Hind. The font Hind is built into the university's Web templates and is available for free download on the Web.
