Welcome to Public Health!
Here at Ferris, we have the distinction of offering both undergraduate and graduate programs in public health. The Bachelor of Science in Public Health (BSPH) will prepare graduates for entry level public health/ community health positions and will serve as a great foundation for the Master of Public Health (MPH) degree program at the graduate level, where graduates will have the opportunity to pursue more focused areas of study such as epidemiology, health services administration, environmental health and health education/behavioral science. Students who qualify may want to consider the accelerated track that allows the completion of the BSPH and MPH within five years. The MPH program is also available to students from a variety of other undergraduate disciplines.
The public health programs at Ferris focus on “rural health” as an area of underserved populations by virtue of their rural location. Courses in the public health program will prepare graduates to work in many diverse areas of public health, but with the value added focus on the special population health needs of rural communities.
Our outstanding public health faculty at Ferris bring diverse and relevant areas of expertise in public health to help us offer programs of quality. They are all actively involved in various areas of public health research which will inform their teaching and ultimately, your learning.
