We are here to give a voice to the student body and promote the core values of Ferris State University: Collaboration, Diversity, Ethical Community, Excellence, Learning and Opportunity. 

We meet every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the David L. Eisler Center in the Founder's Room. 

Mission Statement

The mission of the FSUSGA is to represent Ferris State University student interests in all aspects of campus life and to maintain open channels of communication between students, faculty, staff, administration, and the Big Rapids community.

Vision Statement

The vision of the Office of the President during the 2022-2023 academic year is to promote the efforts of FSUSGA and raise awareness of various social issues which impact students on campus and the surrounding community.

Through efforts in programming and facilitating events, promoting engagement in registered student organizations, and allocating funds responsibly, the vision of the Office of the President and the General Assembly will be accomplished.

Requirements

Senator

As a Senator in Student Government, you represent your academic college.  Senators meet with their college deans on a regular basis to discuss issues within the college. They also serve on various internal and external committees, which allows them to give direct input on the future of Ferris State University.

Representative

Representatives voice the concerns of their organization, as well as their fellow students, in the General Assembly. They report back to their organizations and share information between the two groups. They also serve on various internal and external committees, which allows them to give direct input on the university.

Student Activity Fund Allocation Committee

Are you interested in representing students at-large in the allocation process of funds to student groups? Do you meet the minimum requirements listed above? The BIG Event

Interested in being apart of the largest service project in Michigan? If you want to get involved in the Big Event you have a few options. Check out OrgSync for applications for Coordinator positions. You can automatically become a committee member by being a member of the General Assembly. If you are looking into volunteering please check out OrgSync to register yourself or your RSO for the day of.

Committee Membership

Student Government is structured into different committees, in which the make up of these committees are by voting members.

However, any student may join an internal committee to volunteer their time in making a better campus.
