Here are five steps to help you prepare you to make a great first impression with each recruiter you meet.

If you're unable to make it to the fair, these steps will also be a big help when you're preparing for you next big interview.

1. Create a Resume Worded Account

Now is a great time to refresh your resume. As a Ferris Student, you have access to Resume Worded, AI-powered platform that provides instant 'tailored feedback' on your resume and LinkedIn profile. Resume Worded will help you optimize your word choice and target your resume to land your dream job.;

2. Email your Resume to the CLACS Department

Once you feel confident in your resume, send it to the  Center for Career and Professional Success Department for a review. They're professionals at digging into the details and ready to help you finalize your resume.

3. Join Handshake

4. Update your LinkedIn

LinkedIn is an important networking tool to communicate with your peers, professors, recruiters and industry leaders. Invest the time to update your profile to showcase your experience and achievements so you're prepared for to make a great follow up connection with the recruiters you've met.

5. Practice with the Big Interview

If you’ve never been to a career fair, or even if you have, it can be overwhelming. Big Interview will help you prepare through hands-on practice with mock interviews tailored to your specific industry, job and experience level.
