College of Business Industry Days Established to Support Industry Hiring Cycles, Offer Focused Networking Opportunities for Students

Industry Days

The College of Business welcomes corporations and other employers for Industry Days, a four-day recruitment program beginning Monday, Sept. 25 in Ferris State University’s Interdisciplinary Resource Center connector.

Ferris State University College of Business students will have the opportunity to learn more about careers and connect with potential employers at the college’s upcoming Industry Days events.

College of Business Internship Director Jennifer Njenga said the first group coming in for discussions and face-to-face meetings with employers are Accounting and Finance program students.

“We are looking to mesh with the hiring cycle of accounting firms and other contacts, so their day to meet students is Sept. 24,” Njenga said. “The Career and Internship Fair held each fall and spring will continue to serve our students well, but industry encouraged us to provide an additional opportunity.”

Corporations and organizations will take their place daily in the IRC connector, with 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. schedules for the Accounting and Finance students on Sept. 25. Management and Marketing will be the focus on Tuesday, Sept. 26. Njenga said other specialty programs will complete their Industry Days schedule.

School of Digital Media students will be invited to make contacts on Wednesday, Sept. 27, and Information Systems programs will be highlighted on Thursday, Sept. 28. Guests looking to interact with students will be on-site from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

“We hope all College of Business students can prepare and define what opportunities may be available to them in conjunction with their interests and pursuits,” Njenga said.
