Admitted Student Open House Event Feb. 18 Fashioned to Inform, Welcome Incoming Ferris Students

Students preparing to attend Ferris State University or considering the opportunity to begin classes in the fall of 2023 are welcome at the first of two Admitted Student Open House events Saturday, Feb. 18, in the David L. Eisler Center in Big Rapids.

Ferris State University expects around 500 guests on campus on Saturday, Feb. 18, for the first of two Admitted Student Open House events. The program introduces the campus and its offerings to students committed to or considering Ferris.

Emily Hicks, the assistant director of orientation for the Office of Admissions, said Ferris is beginning open house activities approximately one month earlier than in 2022.

“We are in regular communication with prospective students looking to attend Ferris, along with those who have been admitted and look forward to more exposure to our campus and faculty,” Hicks said. “Faculty and staff from various offices across the university are ready to help with each event and anticipate this wonderful opportunity to meet and inform these students.”

Hicks said parents and other supporters are welcome to join incoming students at the Feb. 18 and March 18 Saturday open houses based in the David L. Eisler Center. Each open house will have a resource fair where representatives of on-campus services and other enterprises are available, ready to answer questions.

“We also have our ‘Dawg Days’ program, which is coming Saturday, April 15,” Hicks said. “That is designed for high schoolers and transfer students interested in Ferris, who want greater exposure to the campus and university programs. Registering for either of these offerings is made easy by going to our ‘Visit Our Campus’ web page.”
