Founders' Day


Founders’ Day is an annual event for students, faculty, staff and community members to come together to celebrate founders Woodbridge and Helen Gillespie Ferris, and their contributions to what is today known as Ferris State University. Founders’ Day activities are free and open to students, faculty, staff and community members. Founders’ Day is part of Bulldog Beginnings.  A complete list of Bulldog Beginnings events is available.

Founders' Day Presidential Address

Location: University Center, Room 203

An annual campus address by President David Eisler.   

Employee Picnic

11:30 A.M.

Location Campus Quad

Join us under the tent on the Campus Quad to celebrate founders' Day and for Ferris to show their appreciation to our faculty and staff. 

Food will be provided by Ferris State Catering so make sure to express your thank you.

Founders' Day Ice Cream Social

4 to 6:30 P.M.

Location: Outdoors on the North Campus Quad (inside University Center, in case of rain)

The annual Founders’ Day Community Ice Cream Social will once again feature the famous Jones Homemade Ice Cream served up by local celebrities from the Big Rapids community. Free ice cream will be served beginning at 4 p.m. on the North Campus Quad near the University Center and run until 6:30 pm or as long as the ice cream lasts. Register to win awesome raffle prizes such as a large screen TV. Drawing will be held on the quad at 6:30 pm and you MUST be present to win.

Founders' Day Extravaganza

4 to 6:30 P.M.

Location: Outdoors on the North Campus Quad (inside University Center, in case of rain) 

Come and enjoy some great food, games, music, and lots of prizes. There is also a fair to showcase service opportunities around the community, departments on campus, and your Five-Star student organizations.  Check it out and get connected.
