The student is considered to have participated with a course if they participated
in the list below, which includes but is not limited to- Does NOT include, for example— Grades can be changed via the electronic grade change process. Log into Ferris360 and search for "All Faculty Tools," then click on the search result of the same name.
From there, under Faculty Tools choose Grade Change. If the grade change you are submitting
is older than 1 year, and therefore is beyond the deadline according to Academic Affairs
policy (as policy states one semester is completion deadline for a grade change submission),
you must submit a grade change form. This form must be accompanied by an explanation
and approval by the Dean. Semester Internships For any internships that will not be complete by the time grades are due, please provide
a grade of "I" prior to grades being due. This will ensure the student does not receive
an "NGR", and the Grade Change Workflow can be used to update the grade when the student
completes their internship. For details, please see the Requirements for a Grade of Incomplete Policy 01:9. Dual Enrollment Courses For dual enrollment courses that are continued past the grade deadline, please provide
a grade of “IP” for In-Progress. This will ensure the student does not receive an
"NGR". The Grade Change Workflow can be used to update the grade when the course is
complete. More information on "I" grades A grade of incomplete, “I” is not to be used for dismissal, or unacceptable grades.
Nor should it be considered as an extended alternative to withdrawal from a class.
A student receiving an “I” must be making reasonable progress in their coursework
as evidenced by completion of at least 75% of the coursework at passing levels. An
“I” grade will automatically become an “F” grade at the conclusion of the following
semester prior to exam week (not counting summer) unless the faculty member either
extends the incomplete grade or files another grade. When issuing a grade of “I”,
copies of the completed form must be made and distributed to your Department and Dean’s
Office, the student’s advisor, the student and the faculty member should keep a copy. More information on "IP" grades - An in-progress grade of “IP” does not roll to an “F” grade after a standard amount
of time. This should be reserved for courses in which the students may need varying
completion times, such as a thesis, capstone or dissertation. When you enter an "F" or "NC" grade, you must complete the Last Date Attended field.
Specifically, we are asking for the last time the student(s) participated in an "academically
related activity" (see list below) not including exam week (fall, spring semesters). Please be aware that if you do not enter a date for the "F" or "NC" grades, your
grade entries for the class list will not save. If a student never attended, please enter an "FNA" for “Failed, Never attended” or
"NCNA" “No Credit, Never Attended” where applicable (no last date of attendance needed). Timme Center for Student Services, 201 (231) 591-2000 8 a.m - 5 p.m.FAQs
