Get ready for the Spring 2019 Commencement Cap Challenge.
Organizers expect to interact with more than 1,000 Ferris State University Spring 2019 graduates at the biannual Grad Fair, which set for 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26.
Alumni Relations Coordinator Kevin Bunce said that the University Center ballroom, and nearby areas in the Center, will be used in a collaborative effort to inform and assist graduates ahead of commencement ceremonies in May.
“We are happy to welcome new vendors this spring, including Betten Honda, who will explain their college graduate discounts on vehicles, along with offering cars and trucks for a test-drive that day,” Bunce said. “For those who are considering graduation rings, representatives from Balfour and Herff Jones will be on hand, to show off their jewelry options and other graduation regalia. Liberty Mutual Group agents will also be available to give details on insurance and investment packages as our graduates begin the transition to the start of their professional lives.”
Bunce said that collaboration among the many departments, programs and colleges is received and welcomed each time that Grad Fair is offered to the next class of graduates from Ferris.
“Copy Center employees can assist those who may need resume materials or business cards so that the graduates can draw attention to their abilities, and availability,” Bunce said. “There will also be representatives from the Ferris State University Bookstore, exit counselors from their college and other university staff there to print commencement tickets, or capture our graduates’ cap and gown photos with classmates and friends.”
The News Services and Social Media Team of University Advancement and Marketing will support Alumni Relations at the Spring Grad Fair by making decoration supplies available to students who participate in the Commencement Cap Photo Challenge.
“We hope that more graduates take the opportunity to dress up their new mortarboard, and shout out to their friends, family and the Ferris community,” Bunce said. “Some of the prizes that will be awarded include a diploma frame and leather portfolio and pen sets, but entries must be submitted by Monday, April 29.”
