Saturday Night Live Writer and Cast Member, Comedienne to Perform During Ferris’ Homecoming Week

Ferris State UniversityThere will be two nationally-known comedians on the Williams Auditorium stage Thursday, Sept. 22, as Natasha Leggero and Michael Che have been named as the headliners for Ferris State University’s traditional Homecoming Week event.

“We are excited to be hosting not one, but two established names in comedy,” said Lola Schultz, a member of the Student Homecoming Committee. “I think students will be familiar with Leggero from her appearances on the James Franco and Justin Bieber roasts, and Che’s work as co-anchor of the popular Weekend Update segment from Saturday Night Live.”

Leggero is co-star on the Comedy Central series “Another Period,” and has appeared on episodes of ABC’s “Modern Family” and contributes voice work on the animated series “BoJack Horseman” and “TripTank.” She will be the first to perform at 8 p.m. on Sept. 22.

Che began working as a standup comedian, in 2009, and appeared on “Late Night with David Letterman,” in 2012. After joining “Saturday Night Live,” as a guest, then staff writer, in 2013, Che appeared on “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart,” as a correspondent, in 2014. He then returned to “SNL” later that year, as a co-anchor of Weekend Update. Che’s performance will be the concluding act for the evening.

Ferris’ Homecoming Committee said that tickets will be required to see the Homecoming Comedy Show. Tickets will be issued, one per student, when they present their ID at the Center for Leadership, Activities, and Career Services (CLACS) office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during Homecoming Week. Any remaining tickets will then be available, first come, first serve Thursday, Sept. 22, at the Williams Auditorium box office, up until showtime. The show is for mature audiences only.

This free event is sponsored by the Student Homecoming Committee with funding provided by the Finance Division of Student Government. Anyone with a disability, who needs special accommodations, should contact (231) 591-2685 at least 72 hours in advance.
