Light Pole Relocation to Close Sections of Ives Avenue, South Street Tuesday, Aug. 2

Ferris State UniversityA 150-foot light pole standing near the University Center will be relocated on the Ferris State University campus the morning of Tuesday, Aug. 2.

To accommodate the move, vehicular travel on Ives Avenue will be restricted at Magnolia Street, which is near the entrance to Parking Lot 1, with the roadway closed to traffic at 9 a.m. The closure also includes a section of South Street, from Ives Avenue west, to Knollview Drive.

Project management with the university’s Physical Plant organization said the roadway is expected to reopen to traffic at 11 a.m.

The light pole is to be installed at the construction site south of Top Taggart Field, where the South Campus Apartments stood.
