The end of the semester is near, and Ferris State University students will soon be fully focused on final exams. To help students unwind, and to provide a social opportunity to engage various faculty members and administrative staff, Pancakes with the President is set for Monday, Dec. 12 in The Rock Café.
Pancakes with the President takes place from 10 p.m. until midnight, at The Rock.
“Pancakes with the President is a way for Student Government to engage with students in a fun way,” said Josh Olszewski, president of Student Government. “We hope this event provides a nice break from studying, for students, and a way to interact with some of the faculty and staff members, here at Ferris.”
Student Government member Lauren Thomas, event manager for Pancakes with the President, sees the event as a fun break, for students, at the start of exam week.
“I think this event represents a stress reliever for students during a very pressing time in their semester,” Thomas said. “It allows for fun, food and friends.”
Pancakes with the President features a number of activities, including: games, trivia and a variety of opportunities to win prizes. A meal plan is not required for the event. However, students must present a valid student identification card to be admitted to The Rock Café.
“This is an event I look forward to every year, as it provides an opportunity to visit with students and it gives them a much needed break from studying for finals,” said Ferris President David Eisler, in his weekly Monday memorandum to the university community, about an event that takes place at the end of the fall and spring semesters.
Pancakes with the President is co-sponsored by Student Government, Dining Services,
the Ferris Bookstore, the President’s Office and the Pride Committee.
