Spanish Minor
The Spanish minor allows students to develop skills in written and spoken Spanish
and study the cultures of Spain, Mexico, and Latin America. Summer study-abroad programs
are available when there is sufficient demand. In virtually all areas of the U.S.,
a knowledge of Spanish provides a distinct professional and cultural advantage. The
Spanish minor prepares students for careers requiring effective communication, cultural
understanding, and interpretive and critical thinking skills. While all careers are
enhanced by knowledge of a second language, specific majors at Ferris lend themselves
to this intercultural awareness including International Business, Hospitality Management,
Criminal Justice, Social Work, Plastics Engineering, Education, Public Relations,
Public Administration, Health Professions, HVAC, and Building Trades.
