MCO is happy to welcome Kaytlyn Sheldon in her role as an Administrative Assistant. Kaytlyn was born in Saginaw, Michigan, and moved nine times by the time she was thirteen years old, all within the lower peninsula of Michigan. She graduated from Reed City High School (about 11 miles north of Big Rapids) and attended Ferris State University, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Speech Communication with a minor in English/Professional Writing. Following graduation, Kaytlyn became a licensed insurance agent and worked in her father’s insurance agency for five years.

Kaytlyn started her career at FSU in October 2015 when she was hired as an administrative assistant in the Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. She quickly learned how different higher education is from the insurance business! In July 2018, she had the opportunity to transfer to the Department of English, Literature, and World Languages in the College of Arts, Sciences, and Education. There, she worked directly with students and helped with course registration, prerequisite questions, and related procedures.

Kaytlyn joined the MCO Dean’s Office in January 2022, where she performs course scheduling, coordinates events and assists students and faculty. She also works in the University Eye Center at the front desk one day per week and as needed. Kaytlyn is proud to be part of the MCO family and enjoys the supportive environment between faculty, staff, students, and alumni.

Out of the office, Kaytlyn enjoys spending time with her close-knit family who live nearby, especially her seven-year-old nephew, Lucas. MCO is thrilled to have Kaytlyn’s positive energy and strong work ethic in the college.
