Distribution of HEERF III Funding – American Rescue Plan (ARP)
Error processing SSI file
The American Rescue Plan (ARP) (formerly referred to as CARES) establishes federal grant dollars "that must go directly to students in the form of
emergency financial aid grants”. Emergency grants to students can be used for any
component of the cost of attendance or for emergency costs that arise due to the Coronavirus
pandemic.
In order to be eligible, students must meet general eligibility requirements. These
include but are not limited to being enrolled at least part-time (6 or more credits),
in a degree program, and not a high school student who is concurrently enrolled.
Eligible students include students who are enrolled at least part-time (6 or more
credits) for spring 2022, in a degree program, and who are not high school students
who are concurrently enrolled.
When you click on the application, it will let you know if you are eligible or not.
Pell-eligible students have been prioritized based on their financial need and they
will be auto-awarded by December 11. All other eligible students who apply by 4 p.m.
on December 15 will receive their grant by December 18.
Payments will be made in the same manner by which your financial aid refunds are paid
to you either by direct deposit or by check; unless you opt to have the $1000 applied
directly to your student bill/account balance. Checks will be mailed to your permanent
address on file.
Eligible students who apply after 4 p.m. on December 15, by Wednesday each week will
be direct deposited on Friday (or a check mailed on Friday).
The fastest way to receive an approved grant is to have direct deposit set up with
Student Financial Services. To review or sign-up for direct deposit, log onto MyFSU,
click on Student, MyAccount, and then the Direct Deposit quick link to sign up for
or review your direct deposit. If you are a student employee signed up for direct
deposit of your student wages, you still need to sign up with Student Financial Services
for direct deposit of your student account refunds.
If you are a pell-eligible student you will be auto-awarded the $1000 grant by December
11 even if you do not complete the application. However we are encouraging all eligible
students to complete the application so that you can elect how you wish to receive
the grant (applied to your student account/balance or sent to you directly).
All eligible students who are not pell-eligible must apply to receive the grant. Applications
approved for non-pell eligible students by 4 p.m. on December 15 will be funded by
December 18.
Log onto MyFSU, click on Student, MyAccount, and then the Direct Deposit quick link,
to sign up for or review your direct deposit. If you are a student employee and are
signed up for direct deposit of your student wages, you still need to sign up with
Student Financial Services for direct deposit of your student account refunds.
Yes. When you complete the application you may elect to have the $1,000 applied directly
to your student account/bill and it will be applied to your balance due.
No, these are federal stimulus funds that don’t have to be paid back.
The first round of Cares Act funds were not taxable and we believe this program will
be handled the same way but the IRS has not provided final regulations on this yet.
Please consult your tax advisor for tax guidance on these funds.
