BIG RAPIDS, Mich. —

Ferris State University's PGA Golf Management program is partnering with AndersonOrd Performance Apparel – a company headed by Ferris State alumni – to support students in the program.

AndersonOrd Performance Apparel, based in St. Augustine, Florida, will provide professional golf clothing for students to wear during competitive events to enhance their professional image and represent Ferris State University with pride.

The company is a premium golf athleisure brand dedicated to producing high-quality apparel and is best known for their proprietary fabrics with the softest feel in golf.

Founding Partner and CEO Tom Underwood worked at Ferris State University in the 1990s and his wife, Melanie Underwood, graduated from the university’s Nursing program in 1997.

AndersonOrd Chief Operating Officer Mike Hodgins graduated from the Ferris State PGM program in 1989 and is a 33-year PGA member who is passionate about giving back to his alma mater and supporting the next generation of golf professionals.

The Ferris State PGM program was the first in the nation when it started in 1975 and has more than 2,000 graduates working in the golf industry.

PGM director Joe Hatch said he is thrilled to partner with AndersonOrd Performance Apparel to provide students with premium apparel for their competitive events.

“It is companies like AndersonOrd, whose commitment to giving back to the PGM program, that exemplifies the strong sense of community and support that defines our program,” Hatch said. “This partnership will not only enhance our students' professional appearance but also strengthen our ties with alumni like Melanie Underwood and Mike Hodgins who continue to make a positive impact in the golf industry and set the stage for success of future PGA members."

Hodgins said supporting the next generation of golf professionals is a priority for AndersonOrd.

“We are proud to partner with Ferris State University's PGM program to provide students with our apparel for their competitive endeavors," he said. "As an alumnus of the PGM program, I am grateful for the education and opportunities I received at Ferris State University, and I am excited we are able to give back to the program that helped shape my career."

The partnership represents a collaborative effort to support students' professional development and enhance their experiences in the golf industry.
