Ferris Fest, the signature spring concert event at Ferris State University, is mixing
things up this year with two headliners – rock band Motion City Soundtrack and rapper
Yelawolf – set to perform Saturday, April 27 in the North Quad.
The annual event, which also includes food and activities, kicks off at noon and runs through 6:15 p.m. It is free and open to the public.
“The Ferris Fest team is excited about the acts this year,” said Adam Donaghy, special events coordinator for Entertainment Unlimited, the campus programming board. “With two headliners and various second stage acts, we hope we will have music for everyone to enjoy.”
Motion City Soundtrack, a Minneapolis-based band popular for the album “Commit To This Memory,” has toured extensively and has also been featured on the Vans Warped Tour. Its most recent album, “Go,” was released in June 2012.
Michael Wayne Atha, a rap artist from Gadsden, Ala., is best known as Yelawolf. He found success in 2011 when his album “Radioactive” hit No. 27 on the Billboard 200 chart. His most recent album, “Trunk Muzik Returns,” was released in February.
