Summer Internships: Jenna Kondziolka

Ferris State University students gain valuable work experience through internships. Internships also can confirm or redirect career decision-making, provide marketability, develop people skills and enhance classroom learning. Many academic programs require one, but the experience is encouraged regardless to provide students with a better understanding of what will be expected of them in the workplace.

Many students are participating in myriad internships this summer. Meet:

She is: going into her senior, and final, years at Ferris State graduating with her degree in Finance in Fall 2023. Jenna is originally from Big Rapids and transferred to Ferris from another university.

Her Internship: Jenna is currently pursuing her internship at Lerner, Csernai, and Fath Financial Group in Big Rapids, where she is doing various tasks such as “sitting in on meetings to learn about the market along with new events on the rise, spending time with the current advisors to broaden my knowledge on topics regarding financial management, and working with employees to better my understanding of the processes that go along with servicing a client.” Jenna also has the honor to be able “work on projects to help the firm become more organized and run more efficiently in its day-to-day processes.”

Future Plans: She plans to graduate college and then achieve her CFP certificate (Certified Financial Planner), and hopefully one day become a financial advisor.

Jenna’s Advice For Students Seeking Internships: She states that “there is always an opportunity to create an opportunity.” She advises that students reach out to an organization or business that sparks your interest to see what they have to offer.

Campus Involvement: Jenna is currently on the Ferris State Women’s Club Soccer Team where she holds the position of secretary. Jenna has been involved in many other things on campus and she is one to always show her Ferris pride.
