Campus Collaboration Adds to Spring 2022 Grad Fair Event Opportunities March 22

PhotoThe Grad Fair offered to participants in Ferris State University’s Spring 2022 Commencement ceremonies will be held Tuesday, March 22 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the University Center.

Approximately 1,400 Ferris State University students are advancing toward Spring 2022 commencement ceremonies Friday, May 6 and Saturday, May 7. To prepare for that celebration and what follows in their lives as alumni and professionals, a Grad Fair in the University Center Ballroom is set for Tuesday, March 22, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Assistant Director of Alumni Relations Ben Withey said students can preview the opportunities available at this event online to visit the University Center more efficiently and productively.

“We are grateful that the Hispanic/Latino Cultural Center is joining us at Grad Fair for the first time,” Withey said. “The Office of Multicultural Student Services is also taking part. These student support operations have pertinent information for these soon-to-be graduates. Grad Fair is a chance to tie up any loose ends that students may need to address in their final weeks on campus.”

Recent adjustments to face mask guidance, announced by the FSU Re-entry Committee, mean that participants can pose for photos in their caps and gowns in whatever fashion they find comfortable. Withey said organizers encourage students to plan their visit, as the opportunity to gather with friends and make memories is before them at Grad Fair.

“Brutus the Bulldog will be available for individual and group photos from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.,” Withey said. “We also have arranged for students to record their ‘thank you’ video at the fair, which will be shown during their commencement ceremony. By following Alumni Relations’ social media accounts, students could win various great prizes, as we hold a raffle at the conclusion of the Grad Fair.”

Withey is grateful for the spirit of working together.

“We are thankful that our collaborating campus partners and sponsor businesses have built up the roster of items,” he said. “Everyone can pick up an Alumni Association souvenir glass that day.”

Withey said cap and gown packages, class rings and printed materials are among the purchase options for impending graduates.

“Alumni Association partner businesses will be on hand to offer Liberty Mutual insurance coverage, information on alumni discounts and a variety of commencement-related products, which will be useful to young professionals,” Withey said. “We pride ourselves on arranging a ‘one-stop-shop’ for everything related to the commencement experience.”

Students who missed a previous commencement ceremony in recent years have been invited to participate in Spring 2022 commencement ceremonies with their appropriate college.

Those with disabilities who may require help to take part in the Grad Fair should contact Alumni Relations by email or calling (231) 591-2345.
