Ferris State University’s commitment to maximizing educational value at an affordable cost has been recognized by College Consensus, an aggregator of college ratings websites. College Consensus ranks Ferris third among all colleges and universities in the survey and has Ferris as the only Michigan school listed in its top 100.

At third, Ferris ranked behind only Brigham Young University, in Provo, Utah, and Western Carolina University, in Cullowhee, North Carolina, in a list of College Consensus’ 2022 “100 Best Value Colleges and Universities.” Besides combining the results of top college rankings lists, College Consensus also factors the “averaged ratings of thousands of real student reviews from around the web to create a unique college meta-ranking.” College Consensus notes its goal is to offer a broad perspective to differentiate itself from others that rank colleges and universities.

“This is positive news that will be important to our future students and their parents as they enroll at Ferris State University this fall,” said Bobby Fleischman, provost and vice president for Academic Affairs. “Critical decisions are being made right now that will impact the lives of students as they begin pursuing their college degree that will prepare them for successful careers. This information makes clear Ferris provides great and affordable opportunities for students.”

“At Ferris, we recognize the importance that our students and families are placing on a high-value education at an affordable cost,” said Jeanine Ward-Roof, vice president for Student Affairs. “College Consensus highlights the great work being done to ensure our students graduate with a Ferris degree and minimal debt. Affordable access to a college degree has never been more important and Ferris is making sure that value continues for its students.

“Their analysis further reflects the well-rounded college experience that we feel we provide our students to prepare for success after college with the benefit of a Ferris degree,” Ward-Roof added.

As student debt remains a concern for students and families, the rankings seek to provide future college students with information about cost-effective options for higher education.

“With the burden of student debt at an all-time high, getting a college degree at a reasonable cost is more important to students and families than ever,” says College Consensus founder Jeremy Alder. “By listing the top schools in order of affordability, our ranking of the Best Value Colleges & Universities allows students to instantly see what are the best schools at the best price.”

Ferris enrolled more than 10,000 students systemwide to begin the 2021-22 academic year. For more information about enrolling at Ferris State University, go to www.ferris.edu.
