Ferris State University is preparing to host its annual Family and Friends Weekend,
Oct. 1-3, on the Big Rapids campus.Family and friends of current Ferris State University students should consider themselves invited to campus for an activity-packed weekend Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 1-3.
The annual Family and Friends Weekend provides visitors a unique opportunity to visit the Big Rapids campus and enjoy a wide range of activities, including a comedian/magician performance, cookie decorating and home athletics contests featuring Bulldog men’s ice hockey, women’s soccer and women’s volleyball teams.
Registration, available online, is required to participate in the whole Family and Friends Weekend experience.
Below is a schedule highlighting Family and Friends Weekend:
Friday, Oct. 1
4 to 7 p.m. – Registration takes place in the Founders’ Room of the University Center
4 to 7 p.m. – Cookie decorating will be hosted inside the University Center at tables outside the Founders’ Room during required registration. Cookies, supplies and drinks will be provided.
4 p.m. – The Bulldog women’s soccer team hosts Davenport at the Bulldog Soccer Field.

7 p.m. – The Bulldog women’s volleyball team hosts Purdue Northwest in the Ewigleben

8 to 10 p.m. – Comedian and magician Michael Kent will host a live show.
Saturday, Oct. 2
10 a.m. to 12 p.m. – Registration takes place inside the University Center Founders’ Room.
11 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Bulldog Familia Asada: ¡Bienvenidos Bulldogs! Hispanic/Latino Cultural Center welcomes all ages to join us for our annual Bulldog Familia Asada at the Robinson Quad (indoor location will be the IRC Connector, in case of rain).
4 to 6 p.m. – Family and Friends Tailgate: Join us for free food and games inside Wink Arena, leading up to the hockey game, which will take place across the concourse at the Ewigleben Ice Arena.
6:07 p.m. – The Bulldog men’s ice hockey team hosts Miami (Ohio) in the Ewigleben

9 to 10 p.m. – Open Skate Session #1: After the Ferris State Hockey team plays Miami (Ohio), come skate on the ice with your family. Skates are available in the pro shop. Due to limited skate availability, each session will have a max of 50 registrations.
10 to 11 p.m. – Open Skate Session #2: After the Ferris State Hockey team plays Miami (Ohio), come skate on the ice with your family. Skates are available in the pro shop. Due to limited skate availability, each session will have a max of 50 registrations.
Sunday, Oct. 3
1 p.m. – The Bulldog women’s volleyball team hosts Wisconsin-Parkside in the Ewigleben
