Ferris State University students and alumni are invited to the first of three Career and Internship Fair events during the Spring 2021 semester. The first fair is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 17 and Thursday, Feb. 18.

Kathryn Thomas, an assistant with the Center for Leadership, Activities and Career Services, said the office typically provides one fair per semester. CLACS believes its decision to expand the fair will positively impact students and alumni.

“We believe this will be the best opportunity for our continuing students, those who have completed or will wrap up their degree pursuits, along with our alumni looking for career prospects to make those connections,” Thomas said. “As has been the case in recent semesters, we will employ the Easy Virtual Fair platform as the route for our candidates and the job providers.”

Thomas said the two-day career and internship fair welcomes employers seeking to fill positions related to hospitality, engineering, the medical field and business roles, to name a few opportunities.

“This fair is open to students and alumni from all majors and programs across the university,” Thomas said. “We are glad to offer a diverse group of nonprofits, businesses and corporations who will have representatives taking part through the Easy Virtual Fair platform. The entire list is available through Handshake, which also provides various preparatory videos and files to use in making a best impression at the fair. Our staff in CLACS also stands ready to answer questions, conduct practice interviews and offer other help to those with specific interests.”

The Career and Internship Fair set for Wednesday, March 7, and Thursday, March 8 will be specific to offerings based on virtual participation. A third fair on Wednesday, April 7 and Thursday, April 8 will include virtual and traditional opportunities.

Those interested in participating who may have a disability and would require help to take part should contact CLACS at (231) 591-2685 or approach the center by email.
