Focused on opportunities for Ferris State University students and alumni to build skills through internship experiences or enter the marketplace with strong employment prospects, the Center for Leadership, Activities and Career Services has organized a Career and Internship Fair for Wednesday, April 7 and Thursday, April 8.

CLACS Assistant Kathryn Thomas said this is their final fair of the Spring 2021 semester. More than 50 businesses, nonprofit organizations and other employers will take part in the two-day fair.

“The fields of interest for our students and alumni in this fair include education, engineering, the healthcare industry, hospitality roles and accounting positions,” Thomas said. “We are excited to offer an expansive opportunity of career possibilities, along with situations that will afford continuing students the chance to build experience through internships in the coming summer and fall.”

Thomas said there are employers and internship providers taking part whose proposals would see new staffers or interns in virtual positions as the working world adapts partially in response to COVID-19.

“CLACS can offer participants preparatory workshops, including a tutorial on best practices for our event platform, Easy Virtual Fair,” Thomas said. “There are also presentations on how to best offer yourself up for consideration in the virtual realm, interview practice sessions and more, all available through Bulldog Connect.”

Those interested in participating who may have a disability and would require help to take part should contact CLACS at (231) 591-2685 or approach the center by email.
