The Circle of Tribal Nations and Ferris State University’s Office of Multicultural Student Services have collaborated to welcome a troupe from the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan for a Native American Heritage Month Celebration Tuesday, Nov. 19.
A program of traditional song and dance, along with a meal including authentic dishes, will be presented from 5 to 7:30 p.m. in Rooms 202 A and B in the University Center.
The celebration of Native American Heritage Month celebrations began in the state of New York in 1916, and President George H.W. Bush established the concept of a month-long celebration in 1990.
