Fredericka HayesA new career challenge has begun for Fredericka Hayes, who has already started her work as Associate Vice President for Human Resources, in Ferris State University’s Administration and Finance division.
Vice President for Administration and Finance Jim Bachmeier said Hayes’ background with Professional Educational Services Group, a multi-state educational staffing company, and the Grand Rapids Public Schools brings the Human Resources operation a most qualified leader.
“I am very pleased to have Fredericka’s tremendous range of experiences as an administrator, to benefit our division and the university,” Bachmeier said. “I also want to thank the Human Resources staff for their most capable efforts and service during an extended period of time. With Fredericka’s arrival, we now look forward to the combined efforts of these professionals going forward.”
Hayes began her career in education as a water safety instructor with the GRPS, in 1982, and was the district’s chief administrative officer when she joined PESG, in 2012, where she served as corporate human resources/compliance officer for seven years.
“I have worked with schools in other states, which was a great opportunity to view the operations and support offered in a number of operations from K-12 school districts to institutions of higher education,” Hayes said. “For myself, Ferris provides me an opportunity to follow my heart and return to education. I had been in administration for a support company most recently, now I am closer to the education of students, and the professionals of this university.”
Administration and Finance departments include Athletics, Auxiliary Enterprises, Campus Safety/Police, Ferris’ Finance office, Information Technology Services and Physical Plant, and Human Resources.
