UPDATE: (Jan. 28, 2019, 10:59 a.m.) While The Quad Café and The Rock Café plan to maintain regular hours, at this point, Dining Services has announcements about other Big Rapids-campus locations: Erbert and Gerbert’s is now closed, the Snack Shack and Grill Pit are open until 6 p.m., and UC Starbucks will close at 3 p.m.
UPDATE: (Jan. 28, 2019, 10:32 a.m.) The Student Recreation Center and Birkam Health Center will now be closing at noon, today, due to weather-related staffing issues.
CAMPUS CLOSING: (Jan. 28, 2019, 10:15 a.m.) Ferris State University’s Big Rapids campus will close at noon, today (Jan. 28). The Quad Café and The Rock Café are currently scheduled to remain open for dining. The University Center and Student Recreation Center are also expected to be open. The hours of all open facilities could be limited due to the deteriorating weather conditions in the area. Anyone with questions about these or other facilities should contact those offices, directly. Employees should check with their supervisors before leaving for the day. Further, employees and supervisors should make sure that all building doors are locked and secured as they exit for the day. BUS SERVICES UPDATE: (Jan. 28, 2019, 9:05 a.m.) Due to the inclement weather, The DART Campus Shuttle will not be running, today. The Grand Rapids-to-Big Rapids Shuttle Bus Service (The Rapid) will not be running after the first run (6:25 a.m. run leaving Central Station in Grand Rapids) this morning due to cancelled classes.
CLASSES CANCELED, CAMPUS OPEN: >(Jan. 28, 2019, 6:55 a.m.) Ferris State University’s Big Rapids campus classes are canceled today, Jan. 28, due to inclement weather conditions. All day and evening classes have been canceled. The University will remain open. Faculty and staff are encouraged to use their discretion in traveling, today. Please contact your supervisor if you have any questions about whether you need to report. Employees can consult the closing or canceling of classes policy.
