The University Center ballroom will feature a variety of Ferris State University campus experts and professionals assembled on Thursday, Nov. 8 for the 2018 Fall Grad Fair, co-sponsored by Alumni Relations, the Ferris Barnes and Noble Bookstore and the Commencement Office.
Kevin Bunce, coordinator of Alumni Relations, said collaborative efforts are made to offer an inclusive event from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., that day, so students preparing for December’s commencement can contact all the appropriate parties.
“We are anticipating that around 600 students will participate in Grad Fair based on the number who have confirmed their plans to attend commencement ceremonies,” Bunce said. “That is a typical level of response for the December ceremonies, and we will be prepared to meet the need at this event.”
Representatives from the university’s colleges will be available for exit counseling, the Ferris Barnes and Noble Bookstore staff will be on hand to sell cap-and-gown sets, other graduation regalia and Bunce said information on graduate programs offered online and on-campus will be available at the fair.
“Students can also consider purchase of a class ring and graduation announcements from Balfour and Herff Jones representatives, and Liberty Mutual Insurance will have their contacts on hand to help students who may need various forms of coverage like auto coverage and life insurance policies and health plans as they enter into their career paths,” Bunce said.
University Center, Room 202C will be set up for students to have commemorative photos and video messages produced, with the assistance of the university’s Photographic Services office.
“Students will be able to print their e-tickets for commencement in the main ballroom,”
Bunce said. “We will have Brutus the Bulldog available to join students for their
pictures and video tributes.”
