The Mecosta County Sheriff's Department is investigating a report of gunshots that occurred in the early-morning hours of Sunday Nov. 20, at the Oakwood Apartments on 14 Mile Road in Big Rapids Township. One witness reported hearing three gunshots in the parking lot area and upon looking out their apartment window, seeing a black male with a handgun. Another witness stated they heard the gunshots and stated there was a party at Oakwood prior to the shooting.
The Sheriff's Office is requesting anyone with information regarding the incident
and/or the identification of the suspect with the handgun to contact the Sheriff's
Office.
