Those students prepared to walk onto the stage and receive diplomas from Ferris State
University are encouraged to attend Spring Grad Fair 2016, which is set for Tuesday, March 22, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Room 202 of the University
Center.
Kevin Bunce, the coordinator of Alumni Relations, that said those set to graduate this term can find answers to their questions, representatives from their college, and a variety of resources at this event.
“It’s valuable to them, regardless of whether they’re participating in commencement, or not,” Bunce said. “The students can get e-tickets for the ceremony printed there, pick up cords from their college representatives and verify their intentions regarding participation in the ceremony.”
Cap and gown purchases begin Tuesday, March 22, and continue through Thursday, May 5, but Bunce said that they encourage students to attend the Grad Fair or visit the Ferris State University Bookstore early, to assure getting the proper gown size. Those options may be limited after Friday, April 15.
“We’ll have FSU Photographic Services on hand, as well as Brutus the Bulldog, so graduates can pose for shots in caps and gowns with the mascot, as well as their friends,” Bunce said. “It’s a good way to get those digital photos that may not come so easily with all the demands on your time come commencement weekend.”
There will also be Financial Aid representatives available to offer exit counseling,
and discuss student loan repayment options. Information on graduate degree programs
offered at Ferris can also be secured at the Grad Fair.
Bunce said that the Veterans Affairs office will be on hand, along with information
on class rings and other items for graduates from the Ferris State University Bookstore.
The university’s Copy Center is offering deals on resume paper and business cards,
and Career Services will be critiquing resumes.
“You can also register for raffles, as door prizes will be given away each hour,”
Bunce said. “We also hope graduates will come by, and learn about a number of benefits
available from the Alumni Association.”
