Office of International Education to Celebrate Lunar New Year, Feb. 19

The Lunar New Year is being celebrated in the IRC Connector on Friday, Feb. 19, beginning at 5 p.m. The event is expected to run until 7 p.m.

Students, faculty, staff and community members are encouraged to attend a free event in celebration of the “Year of the Monkey.” The celebration will be highlighted by entertainment, free food and a variety of activities that will feature students of all nationalities. Several Ferris student organizations are affiliated with the event, including: the International Student Organization, Asian Student Organization and Saudi Student Organization. Also affiliated is Ferris’ Office of Multicultural Student Services.

“People should look forward to seeing and learning a little about the Asian culture while possibly making new connections with international students from various countries,” said Steve Sipos, a student ambassador for Global Village, an Office of International Education program.

The celebration will include Chinese dragon dancers, martial arts performances and additional performances from Ferris students.
