Ferris State University’s Bulldog Sustainability Alliance is hosting an Earth Day 2016 celebration highlighted by the Mushrooms for Bees, Trees, People and Planet event, a 5-star campus activity, on Friday, April 22 from 8 to 10 p.m. in the University Center.
Earth Week consists of daily events, including keynote speakers, interactive events and educational sessions that are open to the public. The Mushrooms for Bees, Trees, People and Planet event will feature speaker Paul Stamets who will address the student body and community on the potential for bioremediation, medicine and agriculture in correlation with fungi.
“Students will gain a new understanding of mycology and the diverse potential and
importance mushrooms have within our world,” said Symon Cronk, BSA’s vice president.
“Paul is a master within his studies and will open minds about the possibilities of
mushrooms and their potential.”
