Ferris' Public Relations Student Society of America to Host Annual Alumni Networking Event Edit

The Public Relations Student Society of America at Ferris State University is hosting an Alumni Information Panel on Friday, Nov. 13 from 4 to 6 p.m. in University Center, Room 203.

“Last spring, we held an alumni mixer which hosted four alumni,” said Arielle Borkovich, vice president PRSSAof professional development. “Our chapter members gave really good feedback after the first event. One of the suggestions was to provide more time for questions, which is why this semester’s event is an information panel.”

The alumni panel will host five to 10 Ferris public relations alumni from various years and give current public relations students the chance to ask questions. PRSSA members will be required to come with five questions in hand to make sure that the event is productive.

“Alumni are invited to go to a local restaurant to meet chapter members after the panel,” Borkovich said. “We really want to guarantee that members are benefiting from our chapter, so we want to provide numerous networking opportunities for them. A networking dinner will ensure that if their questions aren’t answered, or if they feel as though they connected with any of the alumni, then they can speak with him or her later on.”

The Ferris PRSSA chapter is separated into five subgroups that focus on a variety of public relations skills and tasks. These groups include: Professional Development, Community Outreach, Client Relations, Social Affairs and Chapter Development. This is the second alumni event organized by Ferris PRSSA’s Professional Development group.
