Ferris State University’s PRSSA is hosting the second annual Headshot Fundraiser on Thursday, Oct. 22, in the IRC Connector from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
This event is being put on by the Ferris Public Relations Student Society of America to go along with the Career Week events happening from Monday, Oct. 19 to Friday, Oct. 23. Students can pay $5 and get two professional headshots taken with a high quality camera for any professional purposes.
“This fundraiser gives students the opportunity to expand their professionalism in order to enhance their social media outlets,” said Vice President of Social Affairs, Scout Sparks.
This fundraiser is a way for students to “replace the selfie” for their social media accounts such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, or any other profiles that employers may be seeing. Following the event, the photos taken will be emailed to the students for their own use.
“Having professional social media platforms encourages networking and allows students to make great connections with other individuals that are highly beneficial in the future,” said Sparks.
