Learn about the process that your morning cup of coffee went through at the “Connected by Coffee” screening and discussion on Tuesday, Nov. 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. in IRC 120.
Connected by Coffee is a documentary that follows the lives of the people who grow coffee and explores social justice issues such as indigenous rights and empowerment of women. The screening will be followed by a question and answer session with filmmakers Aaron and Chelsea Dennis.
“When we buy coffee, we generally only see the final product,” said Taylor Hooper, a senior in Sociology from Crystal Falls, Mich. “‘Connected by Coffee’ showcases the actual people who farm our coffee because it is important to understand what goes into the products we buy.”
This event, brought to Ferris by BEYOND: Globalization and FSUbuntu, is free and open to the public.
